Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe it’s time to go take a walk!

Sonima recently published an article on Walk & Talk Therapy and all the benefits it has to offer. Leigh Weinraub, a counselor and athletic trainer, has been using this practice for over a decade now to help different clients and she assures anyone could benefit from it. She decided to try this unconventional method after her success as a tennis player and coach. She thought about how all her problems were solved while she was moving so she decided to give it a try with her clients.

Leigh has taken this idea even further by starting her own motivational clothing line called M by MindinMotion. This idea was born out of Leigh’s passion for helping others become the best they can be. While coaching a tennis player, she made a shirt with the word “BREATHE” printed upside down so that the athlete could read it during the match when she became overwhelmed. The idea was incredibly successful and within weeks all her students began wearing motivational shirts with words such as “MOVE” and “STRENGTH” on them.

As described by Leigh, “getting your mind in motion will get conversation brewing, improve communication, move you more toward truth, get you out of avoidance, get you unstuck—literally physically, physiologically—and simply, improve the quality of your life.”

Even with our busy schedules, we should all find time during the week to go for a walk and talk about what’s on our minds. The physical activity and the fresh air can help free our minds from the worries or problems that are wearing us down. Give it a try this weekend and let us know if you can notice any changes!
